Randall Goss

Chairman and Chief Executive Officer

Randall Goss, founder, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, established U.S. Risk in 1986 with a single office and a single product line. U.S. Risk now has 16 offices both nationally and internationally, and is comprised of several companies that handle insurance underwriting, insurance brokerage, and reinsurance brokerage. Currently, U.S. Risk is the sixth largest excess and surplus lines provider in the nation. Prior to founding the company, Mr. Goss began his career as a certified public accountant for Ernst & Ernst (now Ernst & Young) where he co-authored the book Accounting and Auditing of Financial Institutions.

George Gorney

Chief Information Officer

George Gorney joined U.S. Risk in early 2011. In his role as CIO, Mr. Gorney is responsible for all information technology activities and strategic planning for all companies within U.S. Risk Insurance Group, including international operations. Prior to U.S. Risk, Mr. Gorney worked for Verizon Communications in a number of technical and management roles primarily focused on application design, project, and program management. He received his B.S. in Computer Information Systems from the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University and his MBA from the University of Dallas. In addition, Mr. Gorney has a graduate certificate for studies in Strategic Leadership and contributed to patents in application design and contact center routing methods for work completed while at Verizon.

Wayne Carter

President, U.S. Risk Underwriters, LLC

Wayne Carter joined U.S. Risk from Berkley Program Specialists (BPS) of Naperville, Illinois, where he served as President. Prior to his position at BPS, Mr. Carter served as President and CEO of Target Capital Partners from 2000 through its sale to Crump Insurance Services in October of 2010.

Since launching his career in 1976 with the Travelers Insurance Companies as an all-lines commercial underwriter and account analyst, Mr. Carter has held various commercial underwriting and management positions. From 1992 through the end of 1999, he served as President of Brown & Brown’s Professional Programs Division in Tampa, Florida, where he was responsible for all of the firm’s nationwide professional liability programs and related wholesale and retail operations.

Mr. Carter is a graduate of Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics. He holds designations as a Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriter and is an Associate in Risk Management.

Michelle Frymire

Chief Financial Officer

Michelle Frymire joined U.S. Risk in 2017 as Chief Financial Officer, responsible for Finance, M&A and Development, and Human Resources. Ms. Frymire’s previous roles have included Vice President of Finance at Delta Air Lines, Chief Financial Officer of Starwood Vacation Ownership, CFO for TruGreen Lawncare at The ServiceMaster Companies, and VP of Financial Planning & Analysis at ServiceMaster, where she played a key role in the firm’s successful IPO in 2014. Most recently, Ms. Frymire served as CFO for Service King Collision Repair, a Blackstone portfolio company. She holds a degree in Economics from Austin College and an MBA from The University of Texas at Austin McCombs School of Business.

Matthew McCampbell

Executive Vice President, Corporate Strategy and Development

Matthew McCampbell joined U.S. Risk in 2017 and brings more than 16 years of experience in strategy and financing in the insurance and financial services industries. Prior to joining U.S. Risk, he was a Vice President at Essent Group, Ltd. for seven years, where he focused on corporate strategy and finance. Before his position at Essent, he was a Vice President in Macquarie Capital’s Financial Institutions Group, where he was responsible for executing M&A and financing transactions for risk-bearing, insurance-distribution and market-structure companies.

Mr. McCampbell holds a Masters of Business Administration in finance from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He also holds a Bachelor of Arts in psychology and a Bachelor of Science in business administration from Trinity University in San Antonio.
